Plastic Free India

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti (150th Birthday) student council of Bahra University organized a cleanliness drive. The theme for the drive was “Plastic Free India”. The event began with the address by Worthy Vice Chancellor Dr. Piush Verma in which he made the students aware about the various methods of waste management, ways of waste segregation. He also laid stress on the electronic waste and its management. After this, Akash Kashyap student of Civil Engineering delivered a small demo on recycling process and another student Namira Khan from Physiotherapy department made the gathering aware about health hazards of plastic. Then the students started the drive. They cleaned the university campus (Boys Hostel, Girls Hostel & Academic Area) along with that they covered waknaghat chownk and whole market area. A total of more than 100 students took part in the drive.
